There is no further information available at this time. If the Government decides to proceed with this project, SOSSEC, Inc. will release a full Project Announcement to all SOSSEC Consortium members.
DESCRIPTION: The Government anticipates releasing an RFPP Project Announcement under the AFRL OTAFI OTA within the next few weeks or so. This project seeks a novel software-defined compact inexpensive radio prototype to improve radio communications solutions for mobile nodes. The solution needs to provide greater communications resilience and improved evolutionary flexibility while reducing cost and reducing Space, Weight, & Power (SWAP). The Government will be seeking proposals for implementing waveforms suitable for use in noisy environments in a low-cost small-SWAP package based on commercial software-defined radio components. This effort may include studies, implementation, laboratory testing, and field-testing of the implementation.
