Who We Are
SOSSEC, Inc. currently manages the System of Systems Consortium (SOSSEC), an organization comprised of over 950 members, as well as the Sensors, Communications, and Electronics Consortium (SCEC) which is comprised of over 350 members. Â SOSSEC, Inc. was awarded its first OTA in 2009 and has managed 14 OTAs to date. SOSSEC, Inc. currently manages nine OTAs. Â SOSSEC, Inc. has successfully completed more than 350 OTA projects.
Our Mission
SOSSEC, Inc. exists to manage consortium-based OTAs by providing the expertise and infrastructure required to effectively and efficiently manage the OTA project life-cycle.
The SOSSEC Consortium was specifically formed to address the needs of the Department of Defense (DoD). It was founded on a simple concept: that collaboration, innovation, and cooperation among a broad spectrum of industry, academia, and non-profit entities are necessary for delivering top-quality service and innovative technology solutions to clients.
Through mission-oriented oversight, spirited competition, and an ever-expanding membership base offering a massive variety of capabilities and tech solutions, SOSSEC, Inc. ensures consistent delivery of top-notch prototype solutions executed within cost, schedule, and technical performance expectations.
What We Do & How It Works
As a Consortium Manager, SOSSEC, Inc. facilitates the working relationship between the government and member companies. SOSSEC, Inc. currently manages over 1,000 member companies and nine OTAs. We make every effort to help non-traditional companies overcome barriers to entering the DoD marketplace, grow, and evolve into self-sufficient performers in the DoD industrial base.

General Membership Meetings
SOSSEC, Inc. holds a general membership meeting on at least an annual basis to discuss OTA status, capability gaps and related opportunities, DoD policy changes, new services, and lessons learned. We also hold networking sessions to connect government, traditional and non-traditional members.

Mentorship Opportunities
SOSSEC, Inc. provides mentorship to its many non-traditional and small business members. Mentorship opportunities come in the form of one-on-one instructional sessions, as well as group seminars that offer guidance on solicitation response compliance, contract management, program management, requirement management, and day-to-day business challenges.

Diversity and Competition
The SOSSEC Consortium supports a competitive environment within its membership base. In order to provide the best possible service and deliverables of the highest quality, the SOSSEC Consortium features a diverse and continuously growing cast of over 1,000 members, consisting of traditional and nontraditional firms, academic institutions, and nonprofit organizations. Nearly 80 percent of the members are non-traditional companies.
