Teaming Request
PCI-OTA-24-0004 Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) Propulsion Studies

A Non-Traditional SOSSEC member, Xdot Bearing Technologies, is interested in teaming as a subcontractor with another SOSSEC Consortium member on PCI-OTA-24- 0004 Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) Propulsion Studies.

Xdot design, develops and produces compliant foil bearings. Compliant foil bearings are an enabling technology that offers unique capabilities for high shaft speeds, high operating temperatures and are oil free. Xdot’s bearings are TRL 5-9 (depending on the size and application). They have been successfully used in a wide range of applications including microturbine demonstrators, refrigeration compressors, and high-speed motors. Our portfolio of bearings starts with 7 mm diameter shafts for very small, extremely high-speed systems, up to 137 mm diameter for larger machines.

Xdot has experience working with aerospace (DoD and other funding sources), commercial and industrial system developers. We have been building and shipping our unique, patented bearings to customers for over 12 years. Our design efforts for new bearings and new bearing applications are supported by a state-of-the-art suite of analysis tools and multiple in-house test rigs. Xdot also has a deep experience base doing rotordynamic analysis work on a broad range of turbomachinery to help smaller organizations that may not have this expertise.

If any proposing SOSSEC Member is interested in teaming with Xdot Bearing Technologies, please contact their POC directly.
