About SOSSEC Consortium
SOSSEC, Inc. is chartered as the single point of contact activity for the System of Systems Consortium (SOSSEC), and offers the unique ability to integrate and harness the power of a diverse consortium of organizations. This combination of skilled and experienced collaborators, innovators and performers integrated into a committed support team, offers our clients major benefits including:
The Consortium was specifically formed to address the needs of the Department of Defense (DoD). It is founded on a simple concept: that collaboration, innovation, and cooperation among a broad spectrum of industry, academia and non-profits vastly improves the products and services delivered to its clients. This concept, combined with a competitive environment among Consortium membership, supported by quality oversight by SOSSEC, Inc., ensures low-risk, lowest-cost, and the best-of-breed delivery of prototype solutions to our clients. Most traditional companies do not provide the breadth of capabilities that we do.
Since its founding in 2007, the SOSSEC Consortium has enjoyed many successes. Its members have developed, integrated, and supported more than 70 multi-million dollar federal, state, and local programs in diverse regions of the country, and have facilitated collaboration among these diverse programs to share information and capabilities.
In 2008, SOSSEC reached a new milestone. At the request of the U.S. Army, ARDEC the SOSSEC Consortium reformed under an S-Corporation called SOSSEC, Inc., and consortium memberships were formalized under a Consortium Membership Agreement. In April 2009, the U.S. Army at Picatinny awarded the SOSSEC Consortium through SOSSEC, Inc. a multi-year Other Transaction Authority (OTA) Contract. SOSSEC, Inc. was designated as the Consortium Administrative Organization (CAO) to be the contract and quality control agent.
Under its new colors, the SOSSEC Consortium collaborates with federal, state, local, regional, and private sectors to conceive and implement transformational solutions. SOSSEC is the single point of contact (POC) and provides fiscal oversight, quality control, and the broadest possible technological expertise to satisfy the requirements of this solicitation. From this initial OTA award, SOSSEC has received three additional OTA awards from the US Army at Picatinny. In addition to the first OTA award in April 2009, SOSSEC has received subsequent OTA awards in August 2010, January 2011 and the latest in September 2012.
SOSSEC was awarded an Other Transaction for Prototype (OTP) through January 21, 2021, this time from the U.S. Air Force’s Air Force Research Laboratory – Rome, NY for prototype development in support of their Open System Acquisition Initiative (OSAI).
SOSSEC Inc. and the SOSSEC Consortium continue to serve as an objective, multi-disciplinary, technology-neutral team of highly specialized members with many years of experience in the support of DoD clients and programs. The SOSSEC Consortium concentrates on the recruitment of highly innovative non-traditional companies. Our non-traditional companies represent the most innovative, entrepreneurial companies in America today and have the benefit of working in a mentor/protégé arrangement with companies with more government experience.
We have blended the best-of-breed of both categories into a decisive, energetic, and responsive organization. SOSSEC is able to bring a broad spectrum of core capabilities from the SOSSEC membership. As new members join the open Consortium, the portfolio of capabilities available to our clients continually expands. Even the most demanding requirement can be addressed either by existing members or at the suggestion of our clients; the Consortium can solicit membership specifically suited to the task.
